There is a loan that will GIVE you $4 for every $1 in down payment you put up. That mean your $1,000 down now becomes $5,000 in down payment. Again there are requirements.
You can still buy a home for you and your family for LESS than rent on the same home would be. Not all homes are foreclosures that are wrecked. A lot can be moved into and then made your own over time.
